About me This site presents and catalogs my reading exploits, some thoughts, and some opinions. And, be I so bold as to hope⸻as Bane explains in scene 90 of Christopher and Jonathan Nolans' screenplay for The Dark Knight Rises:

Hope. Every man who has rotted here over the centuries has looked up to the light and imagined climbing to freedom. So simple. So easy. And, like shipwrecked men turning to sea water from uncontrollable thirst, many have died trying. I learned that there can be no true despair without hope.

it could, should, would eventually connect me to or with somebody. A hooman bean. But, it is all so, so tiresome. Nobody exerts themself, nobody wills to. What Ian Brady says of hoi polloi in The Gates of Janus, I agree with wholly. I'd thought it myself. Yet he had more successful relationships. Or at least the one. The lucky fucker. I am a pillar of iron. I loom over the ever-rotting, ever-replenishing detritus, constituting the 99.99% of humankind.

Who am I? Many things, one thing, nothing. Or people. Pigeonholing me will fail⸻, He says! Pfff-ha! I'm, I'd guess, at best a 1e-4⸺1e-5 rather than a 1e-6. No genius, not overly special or different. One is what one does rather than what one self-prescribes oneself. As it goes, actions speak louder than words. Sooo, what do you do? Strike that. I'm a sucker for disappointment and hope, it would seem. Or have a suboptimal rela⸻, To what end?⸻an unhealth⸻, And what'd a healthy o⸻, an often submissive or masochistic, often self-righteous, and too often (Yes, when you question it, this makes little-to-no grammatical sen⸻, Objection! Your Honor, that is an outrageous stretch! It is far-fetched! An Etch-A-Sketch, dare I say!) correctly predictive relationship with both, especially the former.
tldr; I'm a thoroughly embittered, disappointed, disheartened, despondent person lonesomely going through the motions with help of the arts, who likes to learn and do, so long as there is a decent goal. (Maybe?)

I used to listen to and through music obsessively. 80–95% of everything I'd listened to from 2012 to 2021 was logged at/with last.fm. If curious: 2.5e5 scrobbles, to use the its term; all achieved (It's still strange that people compete(d) to artificially scrobble the most.) natty, of course. I used to be on the cutting edge of the a few scenes: djent, technical deathcore, technical progressive metal, artsy-fartsy shred and guitar wankery. And I was seriously getting into jazz past few years, familiarizing myself, like I'd done with rock/metal, with the major and minor developments, and genre creators and expanders, or at least I'd like to have thought so. Both were processes, both were abruptly cut short. I also used to compose, used to enjoy composing, and listening too.
I like highly technical, (needlessly) intricate, and or brutal music. Broadly: metal, jazz, and classical; more narrowly: technical deathcore, bebop, baroque. I like abstract, modern (or whatever contemporary goes for these days...), or (successfully) experimental shit like: Brian Ferneyhough (Who has a family name only a mother can pronounce.), Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji, Cecil Taylor, Milton Babbitt, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Jacob Collier, and many, many (Not good with names, so don't hold it against me for not giving example when I can think of music and or album art instead.) other, ofter lesser knowns, scrounged up and around from Bandcamp. I have, or at least had, crystallized, acrid opinions on most, if not all, subgenres of the three aforementioned, and I readily and avariciously consoomed anything and everything, to form and opinion, broaden musical horizons. Some day I may get back to music fully. Some day... Update from 20230310 I have slowly begun listening to stuff again, not going to attempt to regain what is/was lost, or go back, but it's a start. And starting is the first step (when you've fallen of a cliff and were broken for 2 years 3 months, I guess)⸻, He's flatlining again! We're losing him! (It is, or will be, a process. . . )

I also have interests in a few areas of physics, chemistry, and mathematics, and in software engineering. Music, literature, knowledge/learning one could say are my passions. I can't well describe myself or talk about myself in general, so I won't any further. I don't define or constrain myself, who or what I am through my relation to others, objects, ideas, etc. I just am. If you don't get me and would like to, let me know me.

About this site URIs and clickables are (or should be) in orange (and, if I've killed all saturation, glhf!). This too close in hue, saturation, and luminosity color is used for rules. Is that too close?⸻Yes. Am I gonna do something about?⸻No. My depression is seeping into everything around me, so saturation is gone. Not doing anything about that either. Emphasization is intended through italicization. Intensification or different emphasization⸻through emboldening. Inessential parentheticals abide in underlined text. Other voice or third emphasization through intended through grayscaling (and italicization, because I'm not consistent, it would seem). Dates of initial writing completion and last update are given in smaller font size in gray, respectively: IW and LU. I am quarterwise flattered-humbled to have been stolen from or copied, without acknowledgement, i.e., accreditation a dozen or so times. I use GNU make, VCS, zsh, and md4c (since much faster than smu) to facilitate webpage creation and maintenance.
Unless stated or indicated, such as by overt quotation, all text herein is mine. I permit its usage under the CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

Lastly, how tragicomedic it is for nigh all to prefer to not engage not only with me⸻that's understandable and mostly expectable from any fuck with any non-null subset of the following: unwilling to read, immature, coddled, feeble-minded, stupid, affluent or well-off, veg\w+n/fungi-like, Marxist⸻but others too⸻unless they be fellow drones in the cult and or the machine⸻>and> themselves. That is, these people things, if at all, only barely fleeting know themselves⸻who, how, what they are, have produced rather than adopted a thought, let alone an original one. Funny, funny 'people'. Such a depressing is my? reality. Ending on such an atrabilious note was not intended.
